When you are pregnant people tend to be a little nicer to you than usual. They open doors, let you go ahead in line, offer you a chair or give you a kind smile. Since I am 7 months pregnant, I can truly appreciate this kindness but I do think its a shame that people do not tend to be this nice to others as well, especially during the holiday season.
We have gotten so caught up in the hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping and commercialism that we have forgotten what the true meaning of Christmas is. So although I know most people are being kind because I am pregnant, I am going to close my eyes and make believe that the kindness I am experiencing is actually the Spirit of Christmas in people's hearts and not a reaction to my bulging belly. Hopefully it will remind me to be as kind in return, not just this Christmas, but the rest of the year as well.
This Christmas I encourage you to look into your heart and do the same and I promise you will have a great Christmas because of it.
